It participates in the Biginelli reaction, forming molecules including dihydropyrimidinones.Methyl acetoacetate (MAA) is used for the synthesis of alpha-substituted aceto- acetic esters and cyclic compounds, e.g. pyrazole, pyrimidine and coumarin derivatives. |
