4-(Methylamino)phenol sulfate is a photographic developer used in black and white photography. It is also used as tone developers in developing agents. Further, it is used in oxidative hair dye formulations.

Light sensitive. Incompatible with acids, acid chlorides, acid anhydrides and oxidizing agents.
