Its derivatives show potential candidature in organic light emitting diode (OLED) devices. It is also used as a fluorophore for the study of peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence (POCL). |

It may be used as an internal standard for the determination of halofantrine and desbutylhalofantrine in animal biological samples using on-line UV irradiation and POCL detection. |
