| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | The gene CEP55 (Centrosomal protein of 55kDa) encodes a protein that is found to be localized to the mother centriole during interphase. It plays a crucial role in microtubule nucleation, mitotic exit and cytokinesis. The protein CEP55 also elicits the cell transformation by stimulating the phosphatidylinositol 3′-kinase (PI3K)/AKT pathway. It participates in the regulation of cell-cycle and is found in certain tumor tissues, such as hepatocellular carcinoma and gastric cancer. Additionally, it is also involved in midbody structure during cytokinesis. |
