It is also referred as CNG3, ACHM2, CCNC1, CCNCa, CNCG3 and CCNCalpha. A cyclic nucleotide-gated (CNG) channel serves as essential target for sensory transduction in retinal photoreceptors and olfactory receptor cells. CNGA3 subunits specify the arrangement of subunits containing L633P and other mutations which leads to interact between channel subunits or intersubunit. Its mutations are the most common cause of cone-rod dystrophies and achromatopsia. |
