GALNTL2 (Polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase-like protein 2) is a novel member of the human UDP-GalNAc:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (pp-GalNAc-T) family expressed in human tissues. It possesses unique catalytic activity. Member of this family transfer GalNAc from the sugar donor UDP-GalNAc to serine and threonine residues, which forms an α-anomeric linkage.
