Bcl-2 inhibitor of transcription/peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase 2 (PTRH2, BIT1, PTH2) is a mitochondrial protein released into the cytoplasm during apoptosis. Bit1 complexes with AES, a small Groucho/transducin-like enhancer of split (TLE) protein, to induce caspase-independent apoptosis. Bit-1 is a mediator of anoikis in cells that lose integrin-mediated cell attachment.

Anti-PTRH2 polyclonal antibody reacts with bovine, human, mouse, rat, canine, chicken, and zebrafish Bcl-2 inhibitor of transcription proteins.

Anti-PTRH2 polyclonal antibody is used to tag Bcl-2 inhibitor of transcription for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in plasma by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the roles Bcl-2 inhibitor of transcription in non-caspase apoptosis and cell anoikis.

The natural substrate for this enzyme may be peptidyl-tRNAs which drop off the ribosome during protein synthesis.
