TRMT6 encoded polypeptide is required for cell viability and consists of a sequence related to the RNA-recognition motif, which is found in many RNA-binding proteins. It helps in DNA methylation. Mutations in TRMT6 along with other genes might be linked to tumorigenesis. It acts as a translational repressor of (general control protein) GCN4. |
