| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | TSPAN12 (tetraspanin 12) gene encodes a multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to tetraspanin family. TSPAN12 interacts with ADAM10 and stimulates its maturation and thereby facilitates ADAM10-dependent proteolysis of amyloid precursor protein (APP). In cancer cells, knockdown of TSPAN12 decreases membrane type-1 matrix metalloproteinase (MT1-MMP) proteolytic functions. Mutation in TSPAN12 gene results in autosomal-dominant familial exudative vitreoretinopathy. |
