Native glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase from Leuconostoc mesenteroides. Catalyzes the conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to 6-phospho-gluconate. The enzyme can use either NAD or NADP⁺ as an electron acceptor. Reaction velocity with NAD is approximately 1.8 times greater thant that with NADP⁺.

The enzyme can use either NAD⁺ or NADP⁺ as an electron acceptor. Reaction velocity with NAD⁺ is ~1.8 times greater than that with NADP⁺. Note: 10,000 NADP units are equivalent to ~18,000 NAD units.

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will reduce 1.0 µmol NADP per min at 30°C, pH 7.8.

Reconstitute to 1 mg/ml in 5 mM glycine buffer, pH 8.0. Agitation of solution may cause precipitation.
