Full-length, recombinant, human PTEN (GenBank target symbol = PTEN, ACC No. BC_005821) fused at N-terminus to a His•Tag and S•Tag sequences and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. PTEN is a tumor suppressor that is frequently found mutated in human cancers. It serves as a lipid phosphatase and negative regulator of the PI-3K/Akt pathway. Absence of functional PTEN results in constitutive activation of Akt and mTOR kinases.

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to liberate 1 nmol phosphate from PIP₃ per min at 37°C.

In 150 mM NaCl, 50 mM Tris-HCl, 5 mM DTT, 1 mM EDTA, 50% glycerol, pH 7.5.
