Also, some silicas have an intrinsic metal content that may cause chelation problems with sensitive biomolecules, leading to poor recovery. Polymeric TSKgel columns come in C18 and phenyl functional groups and a range of particle porosities. Fast kinetics and quantitative protein recovery at submicrogram loading are characteristic of nonporous resin-based TSKgel Octadecyl-NPR columns.
